PERCENTAGE OF RATE ADJUSTMENT USED FOR WAGES AND
BENEFITS FOR DIRECT CARE STAFF Beginning January 1, 2023, Welfare and
Institutions Code section 4519.10(c)(1) requires a provider that received a rate
increase use no less than the percentage in the rate model for staff wages
and benefits to enhance the wages and benefits of staff who spend at least 75
percent of their time providing direct services to consumers. The percentage
of direct care staff wages and benefits varies by rate model. DDS has posted
an online look up tool showing the required percentage applicable to each
service here.

Effective May 1, 2022 New and updated Purchase Order
documents will be emailed to service providers daily. Service providers must
have a valid email address on file with the FDLRC Accounting unit to ensure
delivery. Please email accounting@lanterman.org
with the service provider Vendor Number in the subject line to register or
update your email address. Only one email address per Vendor Number may be
used. |

New Requirement for supporting documents Effective immediately, all supporting
documents for billing must be uploaded into the eBilling
system when submitting your invoices for payment. Emailing or
mailing documents to the regional center are no longer acceptable methods of
submission. If you have any questions pertaining to this process, please
contact the Accounting Associate responsible for your account. |

HIPAA Requirement for all providers As you may know, Federal
legislation known as HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act of 1996) has requirements relating to the sharing of
personal health information (PHI).
Each Regional Center s contract with the State of California now requires
that it have an agreement with each service provider that we work with that
contains assurances that they will appropriately safeguard such
information. It is required that this
be in writing as an agreement between the parties. Contact Community Services if you have any
questions. Your cooperation in this
effort is appreciated!

REMINDER - PRIOR AUTHORIZATION
NEEDED FOR SERVICES TO CLIENTS Please remember that law and regulation requires that the
provider have a written authorization from the regional center in advance to
be assured that payment will be made for the services.This
is for the initiation of new services AND the continuation of existing services.If you as a provider are in need of an
authorization and for some reason unable to reach the service coordinator for
the client, you can always ask to speak with the on-duty worker or the
Regional Manager who can assist you. |
